Four Alaris Health Member Centers from the Essex County and Hudson County Service Area have received an overall 5-Star rating by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)

Four Alaris Health Member Centers from the Essex County Service Area have received an overall 5-Star rating by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).  Alaris Health at Belgrove (Kearny), Alaris Health at Essex (Irvington), Alaris Health at West Orange and Alaris Health at St. Mary’s (Orange) have all received this distinction for measures of overall quality. The 5-Star overall rating awarded to these Alaris Health locations place them among the top nursing homes in New Jersey.

“These important ratings systems assist patients and their families to find the best of the best in nursing home and rehabilitative care,” says Avery Eisenreich, Founder of Alaris Health. “It is an outstanding achievement for these facilities to receive these highly sought after honors.”

Founded on a tradition of health care excellence, Alaris’ Member Health Centers are leading providers of short-term post hospital rehabilitation, long term and specialty care, with Member Health Centers throughout the state of New Jersey.

Comprehensive, Highly Rated Care

All four Centers are places for healing, hope and renewal, as reflected by the range of services and programs. The Centers offer Short-Term Post Hospital Rehabilitation for recovery from trauma, illness, surgery or other conditions. Long Term Care with 24-hour skilled nursing helps patients to maintain the highest levels of health and quality of life. Complex clinical care includes IV Antibiotic Therapy and Tracheotomy Care.

“Alaris Health at Belgrove is a welcoming and friendly environment where every resident is treated as a member of the Alaris family,” says Jackie Baumrind, Administrator for the Center.

Alaris Health at Belgrove (Belgrove Post-Acute Care Center), West Orange (St. Cloud Health Care Center) and Essex (Chancellor Specialty Care Center) also were listed among New Jersey’s ‘Best Nursing Homes’ in U.S. News & World Report’s 2013 issue. The issue, which was released in February, recognizes top-rated nursing homes based on the CMS’ Five-Star Quality Rating System.

“We are pleased that Alaris Health at Essex has been recognized with the 5-star rating and we strive to continue our outstanding delivery of care,” says Maurice Duran, Administrator for the Center.

A Rating System to Help Families Discern Quality of Care

An estimated 3.3 million Americans will live in the nation’s nearly 16,000 nursing homes during 2013.

“Elderly or ailing patients and their families need a way to find the best possible care available,” says Sindy Vaillencourt, Alaris Health at West Orange. “At our Center, patient care is our top priority.”

CMS created the Five-Star Quality Rating System to help patients, their families, and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily and to help identify areas about which to ask questions.  The CMS system rates nursing homes nationally in the areas of health inspections, nurse staffing, measures of medical quality of care, and fire safety.

“With an aging population, the services provided by our Center continue to meet the increasing need, and our high ratings reflect the compassion and commitment of our staff,” says Roy Santos, Administrator at Alaris at St. Mary’s.
