Orange, NJ, June 9, 2016 – With spring and warm weather upon us, Alaris Health at St. Mary’s kicked off the first of a series of senior outreach events last month. The Center hosted a breakfast with seniors from three senior housing apartment buildings in the local community.
The Center bused in 35 excited seniors for a red, white and blue themed event, where they enjoyed comfort breakfast food like home fries, cheesy scrambled eggs, French toast and refreshments. During breakfast, they learned about healthy eating and living, the Center’s sub-acute rehabilitation and long-term care programs and what resident life is like at St. Mary’s.
The seniors enjoyed the food and company and were impressed by the resident community and the Center’s approach to care. Barbara Samuels, a former resident of Alaris Health at St. Mary’s, said, “I used to be a nurse and want everyone to know that I had excellent care while on the sub-acute floor. I know what quality care is and I received it here!”
Alaris Health would like to thank all of the staff and guests who helped make the day so special. The Center plans to host a summer bar-b-que in July for seniors from the community to come out for a relaxed, fun-filled day on the Alaris Health at St. Mary’s campus.
