At Alaris Health at Castle Hill, the staff understands the importance of addressing the individualized needs of residents. Not only do residents receive the best medical care possible, but at Alaris Health at Castle Hill, the staff is also in constant communication with the residents to learn more about their interests.
“When a group of residents requested the opportunity to make tie dye tee- shirts at the Resident Council meeting, the staff jumped at the suggestion. We try to foster any interests that our residents want to explore,” says Francine Sokolowski, Administrator for the facility.
The residents agreed to hold cookie sales to help earn money for the shirts. They baked and sold cookies to the staff in April. In May, two tie dye classes were held and more than 35 residents made shirts. The shirts were worn by the residents at the opening party celebrating National Nursing Home Week.
