At Alaris Health at Castle Hill, the recreation staff is always planning new events that are enjoyable for all the residents. Monthly events may include birthday parties, musical entertainment, pet therapy, exercise, arts and crafts, religious services and much more. This month the facility had two especially unique events, a Domino Competition and a Father’s Day Barbecue.
The residents at Castle Hill love playing dominoes almost as much as playing Bingo. Each group of players has its own style of play, so residents prefer to sit with someone who is familiar with their version for the Domino Competition. The competition can be fierce but everyone has a great time playing with these fun black and white tiles.
Castle Hill at Alaris Health celebrated Father’s Day with a Barbecue. This festive event was a joint effort between the dietary, recreation and nursing departments. Over 75 residents from the entire facility joined the fun. Music was provided by JC Entertainers and the atmosphere was that of a block party.
“We try to offer events that interest our residents and also provide opportunities to socialize and connect,” says Francine Sokolowski, Administrator for the facility.
