Job Information:

Alaris Health at Essex, a 212-bed skilled nursing facility located in Irvington, NJ is seeking a full-time Quality Assurance Compliance Assistant (QACA). MUST BE A CURRENT CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT (CNA) IN NJ.

The Quality Assurance Certified Nursing Assistant performs various resident care activities and related nonprofessional services essential to provision of services to residents. His/her function may not exceed Standards of Practice as accorded by certification. The Quality Assurance Certified Nursing Assistant will play an important role in assuring that quality resident care, compliance with governmental regulations and adherence to policies are maintained in the system.   The QACA is supervised by a professionally licensed nurse.

  1. Attends Nursing and Quality Improvement meetings on a quarterly, or as needed basis to provide input from the nursing assistant perspective;
  2. Works in conjunction with the facility PCC Champion to run the weekly audit reports and assist as necessary.
  3. Attends Utilization Review Meetings and reports any issues to the Clinical Reimbursement Specialist.
  4. Assists in printing out the weekly HMO updates and getting them to the facility point person.
  5. Assists charge nurse in monitoring restorative care and other clinical programs, i.e., ADL sheets; flow sheets for accuracy, and report issues to QA Nurse.
  6. Establishes/verifies the certification/recertification forms for all Medicare residents
  7. Audits for physician signatures on certifications/recertification, H & P completed within 72 hrs of admission
  8. Reviews and closes chart upon discharge.
  9. Audits any documentation identified as focus monitor area.
  10. Sends weekly report to Senior CRS or designee regarding status of critical documentation identified for audit
  11. All other duties as so designated
Job Requirements:
  1. The QACA must be currently certified as a nursing assistant in NJ. He/she is required to attend 12 hours of in-service training per year as per New Jersey State Regulations to maintain certification.
  2. Must be able to read, write, perform some charting as well as limited computer literacy
  3. Speaks, understands and writes the English Language fluently
