Job Information:

Alaris Health Dialysis at Chateau an 18 station dialysis facility in Rochelle Park, NJ seeks a Board certified Nephrologist to perform duties in the role of Medical Director for this dialysis facility.

• Ensure adequate monitoring of patients of the Dialysis Department and the dialysis procedures performed for patients of the program in accordance with the standards set by CMS ESRD.

• Oversee the professional performance of the physicians who are not board eligible in nephrology, and other professional, technical and support staff providing services to the patients of the program.
• Be available, in a timely manner, to assist the staff of the program, who provide services on behalf of the program, with questions or concerns related to the medical care of patients of the program and the technical operation of the dialysis unit, i.e. R.O. System, machine malfunction, emergency operation, etc.

• Supervise the program and its staff to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, standards, rulings, regulations, and interpretive guidelines of the New Jersey Department of Health and Human Services, CMS ESRD guidelines.

• Provide the appropriate support to the development, maintenance and successful implementation of policies and procedures. Oversees the monitoring of water quality, infection control, patient education, scheduling of patients for treatment, dialysis treatment procedure and protocols, medical coverage scheduling for all hours of the program’s operation, staff in-service training, and other aspects of the program.

• Consult with the Vice President of Dialysis Services about budget preparation and its implementation for the program, as may be requested from time to time.

• Review the qualifications of all applicants to provide medical services at the program’s facility and make recommendations concerning the qualifications of all such applicants.

• Advise with respect to the selection, purchase, maintenance, and replacement of equipment, medications, and medical supplies as may be requested from time to time.

• Provide medical coverage necessary for the effective and efficient operation of the program including, but not limited to all times when a physician is unavailable to meet his/her responsibilities hereunder by reason of illness, vacation, etc.

• Facilitate monthly management meeting in which topics include Department Performance Improvement, Water Quality, Policy/Procedure review, etc.

• Oversee and supervise the quality and consistency of medical services provided by the program, and in that connection, efficiently and effectively coordinate the efforts, duties, and responsibilities of all physicians providing professional services to the program’s patients and establish and enforce standards of practice.

• Act as a professional resource for strategic planning for personnel recruitment and equipment acquisition.

Job Requirements:

1. Board certified with at least 12 months experience in the care of ESRD patients receiving dialysis.

2. Current state license to practice medicine.
