New Jersey, June 6, 2016 – On May 28th The Smores, a fourth grade Destination Imagination team from Kinnelon, New Jersey, competed in the 2016 Global Finals in Knoxville Tennessee. As manager of this team of amazing students, and on behalf of their parents I want to thank Alaris Health for their generous support!
Several years ago, a co-worker (thanks Bob Nolan) introduced me to the organization…which lead me to their website. When I read their mission statement, it represented everything I aspire to teach my own children:
“The Destination Imagination program is a fun, hands-on system of learning that fosters students’ creativity, courage and curiosity through open-ended academic Challenges in the fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), fine arts and service learning. Our participants learn patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, respect for others and their ideas, and the collaborative problem solving process. Teams may showcase their solutions at a tournament.”
Courage, creativity and curiosity…words to live and learn by.
Thanks Alaris Health for helping us make it happen!
