Alaris Health Celebrates National Nursing Home Week

NNHW Banner 2017.jpgJersey City, NJ, May 16, 2017 – May 14th through May 20th is the American Health Care Association’s (AHCA) National Nursing Home Week (NNHW), when skilled nursing care facilities across the country unite to recognize and appreciate the important role that skilled nursing staff provide for seniors and those with disabilities.

The commemorative week always begins on Mother’s Day and has a different theme each year. This year’s theme is “The Spirit of America”, and residents, volunteers and staff are gearing up for a packed agenda of themed events at Member Centers to celebrate the week.

Alaris Health at Boulevard East will host a series of travel-themed days, including Florida, Texas, Puerto Rico and New York Days with trivia, costume contests, themed food, games and activities. There will also be a very special Hawaii Day in partnership with the students at Anna L. Klein Elementary School in Guttenberg, NJ.

Chateau Carnival Updated Flyer“The Spirit of America” will come to life at Alaris Health at Kearny with an Imagination Travel to New Orleans (with Mardi Gras-themed food and drinks), bingo marathon, an All-American Day and Journey to Texas events. At The Chateau, they’ll host an indoor/outdoor carnival featuring Anna O’Connor, a fire hoola-hooper, and an Atlantic City blackjack event, which will be hosted by a professional Atlantic City Casino dealer from Atlantic City Poker Entertainment.

Alaris Health at Jersey City and Riverton will host fun events like a costume party, cook-off, mixology competition, scavenger hunt, human knot and unit competition, American history trivia contest, melting pot luncheon, patriotic music event, Hollywood Squares game and an employee appreciation event.

Over at Alaris Health at Belgrove, Cedar Grove, Hamilton Park, St. Mary’s, The Fountains – South Campus and West Orange, they’ll enjoy events like live music concerts, a talent show, a magic show, a taco Tuesday bar, a Trinidad gourmet food demonstration, a balloon send-off, a fashion show, various Mother’s Day events (such as the Mother’s Day Luncheon), various games and BBQs (with apple pie of course).
