Alaris Health at The Chateau has received an overall 5-Star rating by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and is ranked as one of New Jersey’s ‘Best Nursing Homes’ in U.S. News & World Report’s 2013 issue. The issue, which was released in February, recognizes top-rated nursing homes based on the CMS’ Five-Star Quality Rating System.  The CMS system rates nursing homes nationally in the areas of health inspections, nurse staffing, measures of medical quality of care, and fire safety.

“We are very pleased that CMS and U.S. News & World Report have recognized The Chateau with their highest distinction and we celebrate the outstanding quality of care the staff delivers each day,” says Avery Eisenreich, Founder of Alaris Health. “Patients at The Chateau find it to be a place of healing, hope and renewal, as reflected by our comprehensive and individualized range of programs and services.”

Founded on a tradition of health care excellence, Alaris’ Member Health Centers are leading providers of short-term post hospital rehabilitation, long term and specialty care, with Member Health Centers throughout the state of New Jersey. The Chateau offers a warm, supportive environment for post-hospitalization, short-term rehabilitation patients, and long-term residents alike.  A highly regarded ventilator care program and state-of–the-art post-hospital rehabilitative therapies are just a few of the specialized medical features at The Chateau.

Susan Roman, Administrator of The Chateau, says, “We are pleased for this recognition from the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services. Every member of our staff is dedicated to our patients and it is truly a team effort.”

A Rating System to Help Families Discern Quality of Care

An estimated 3.3 million Americans will live in the nation’s nearly 16,000 nursing homes during 2013. They and their families need a way to find the best possible care available.

CMS created the Five-Star Quality Rating System to help patients, their families, and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily and to help identify areas about which to ask questions. U.S. News collects ratings from nearly every nursing facility in the United States, and created from them a database to highlight the highest-rated homes.

“These important ratings systems assist patients and their families to find the best of the best in nursing home and rehabilitative care,” adds Mr. Eisenreich.
