Alaris Health at Passaic County Chooses Employee Maria Restrepo to Highlight for National Nursing Home Week, May 12-18

For Maria Restrepo, who works in the Housekeeping Department at Alaris Health at Passaic County, doing the best job she can to enhance the patient experience is second nature. Whether it is giving an extra spray of a resident’s favorite air freshener to making sure the Conference Room is neat, clean and ready for a big meeting, Ms. Restrepo constantly strives to make people smile.

This dedication to patients has made Ms. Restrepo well regarded by the staff. In honor of National Nursing Home Week, May 12-16, Alaris Health at Passaic County has chosen to highlight her as an exemplary employee. The American Health Care Association established National Nursing Home Week in 1967 as a week-long observance celebrating the positive impact nursing homes can have on the lives of people. Each Alaris Member Health Center is participating in this celebration and has chosen an employee to highlight.

“Maria was selected for one primary reason: she cares about everyone and everything. Although her responsibilities as a Housekeeper keep her moving throughout the day, she always takes the time to make sure that people whose lives she touches through the work are smiling and happy. We are very lucky to have her!” says Roy David, Administrator, Alaris Health at Passaic County.

The theme of this year’s National Nursing Home Week is “Team Care: Everyone Pitches in.”  The theme recognizes residents and patients in long term and post-acute care settings, the dedicated staff who care for them, and the value of care planning where everyone “pitches in” for optimal outcomes.

“Alaris Health celebrates our employees for improving and enhancing the lives of our patients,” says Avery Eisenreich, President of Alaris Health.
